Recurring Billing API is in the Beta phase.

Recurring Billing

Notifications

Stay up-to-date on the latest events of your recurring payments through notifications. Select the notifications you want to receive and send to the consumer.

Recurring Billing supports two notification audiences:

  • Consumer notifications are sent through email.
  • Merchant notifications are sent to the merchant through webhook and email.

Consumer notifications

Consumer notifications inform consumers about upcoming activity and changes to their recurring payments. Recurring Billing sends these communications on your behalf using email.

The following table shows the available consumer notification event types:

  • Successful / Unsuccessful Payments

  • Upcoming Payment

  • Notify when Pause is scheduled/cancelled/changed

  • Resume Pause is scheduled

  • Notify consumers when Pause is approaching resume date

Note
  • Enable this feature from the Recurring Payments Settings section of Commerce Center. For more information, refer to the Commerce Center user guides.
  • Customize the templates by adding your company information.
  • After you enable this feature, Recurring Billing sends emails on your behalf for those events.
  • Emails are triggered only when the consumer has opted in to receive them.  The notifications.emailEnabled field captures this on the recurring payments.

Merchant notifications

Merchant notifications monitor recurring billing activity and integrate recurring billing events into your operational, reconciliation, and consumer service workflows. Merchant notifications are delivered through webhooks and email.
