Wire Transactions

Overview

Send high-value wire credit transfers between financial institutions that hold accounts at J.P. Morgan, with validation and required digital signatures to support accurate processing.

Use the Wire Transactions 2 API to send high-value wire credit transfers between financial institutions that hold accounts at J.P. Morgan. The API applies robust validation and requires a digital signature so you can send wire instructions with consistent controls and predictable processing behavior.

Availability

Wire Transactions 2 is availabile in the following regions:

  • North America (NA)
  • Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
  • Asia Pacific (APAC)
  • Latin America (LATAM)

Payment capabilities

Wire Transactions 2 focuses on financial institution (FI) wire payment flows and supports standard wire transfers and cross-border foreign exchange transactions. Foreign exchange conversion can be included as part of the payment transaction across eligible currencies and payment corridors, depending on how your account is configured for FX services. Consult your Sales or Relationship Management team for details.

Current scope and limitations

Wire Transactions 2 is currently released to a limited set of FI clients and supports USD-denominated wire flows only.

You should position this API as a targeted FI-to-FI USD clearing capability rather than a broadly available global wire solution.

Before implementing, align with your J.P. Morgan representative and the USD Clearing product team to confirm eligibility, supported use cases, and deployment scope.

Security and authentication

Wire Transactions 2 uses mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS) for transport security and authentication, and it requires a digital signature on the request payload.

U.S. financial institution payments: what changes

For U.S. financial institution (FI) payments, include the instructed agent American Bankers Association (ABA) and the settlement account number because the API treats them as mandatory inputs for that flow.
