Open Banking / Pay by Bank - EU & UK
Pay by Bank allows you to fully embrace the opportunities yielded by Open Banking through a set of Payment Initiation Service (PIS) and Account Information Service (AIS) APIs.
With Pay by Bank, your customers can make payments directly from their bank account, from within your marketplace or platform. Once added to your checkout experience, you can use a single API call to initate a low-cost, region-specific payments experience .
With AIS, you can connect to your customers’ accounts so you can validate the payment account and get the account balance.

What you can build
Payment Experience
A payment experience at checkout in which your customers can choose to pay directly from their bank account.
Refunds
Refunds initiated with a single API call.
Real-time payment status
Payment status checks and callback notifications.
How it works
A single API request connects your client to a hosted payment experience that simply guides them through the process of paying through their chosen banking app or sharing their payment account details for account validation. Subsequently, you can track payments and send corresponding payouts when needed.
Which version of Pay by Bank to use
If you are planning to implement Pay by Bank for the first time, you must use the latest version - V2 for your implementation. This ensures you get access to all new features as they are introduced.
If you are an existing user, you can continue to follow the documentation and guides for V1. When you are ready to upgrade to a newer version, you can get support from the team at J.P. Morgan.
