Account Validation services enable you to verify account status and confirm the account ownership for both individuals and businesses worldwide. United States based clients with global counterparties or vendors can submit validation inquiries to the Account Validation services for both United States and non-United States bank accounts.
Account Validation (United States accounts)
Verification response
The following tables describe the verification response codes and their meanings for account validation.

Open Valid |
The account is open and valid as of the last update, with a low probability of debit return. |
20## |
Closed Invalid |
The account is either closed, invalid for payment transactions, or in a negative status. |
30## |
No Information Found |
The account is not found and may be fraudulent or brand-new. Confirm the bank details/information with the customer and try again. |
32## |
Valid Pattern |
The account and routing number combination appear to be valid. This is a soft response, unlike other responses that provide a direct inference of the account status. |
33## |
Invalid Pattern |
The account and routing number combination does not appear valid. This is a soft response, unlike other responses that provide a direct inference of the account status. |
40## |
Debit Return Likely |
The account is either ineligible for debit activity or has a high probability of return, making debit transactions likely to fail. |

Access Not Confirmed: Exceeded Number of Attempts |
The recipient’s access to the account cannot be confirmed, as the validation attempt for the deposit/credit amounts exceeded the allowed limit of three. |
83## |
Access Not Confirmed: Token Expired |
The recipient’s access to the account cannot be confirmed, as the validation attempt for the deposit/credit amounts is beyond the allowed timeframe of 20 days from the date of initial account validation request. |

The following table lists acknowledgement response codes and their descriptions.

The micro-deposit transactions are successfully processed, allowing the validation to be completed upon the second call. |

The following table lists access confirmation response codes and their descriptions.

82## | Access Not Confirmed: Exceeded Number of Attempts | Beneficiary’s access to the account cannot be confirmed as the attempts to validate the deposit/credit amounts have exceeded the allowed limit of three. |
83## | Access Not Confirmed: Token Expired | Beneficiary’s access to the account cannot be confirmed as the attempts to validate the deposit/credit amounts is beyond the allowed timeframe of 20 days from the date of initial account validation request. |
Account Confidence Score responses
The following table lists possible Account Confidence Score responses and their descriptions.
Response | Description |
Information Found | Account and routing number combination is found, and the response includes a confidence score, RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status and a score description. |
No Information Found | Account is not found, so a confidence score is not generated. |
