Transition from J.P. Morgan Access (UI) to Alerts and Decisioning API

You can link each account to only one channel at a time. Choose either J.P. Morgan Access or the Alerts and Decisioning API. You cannot use both channels for the same account.

If you review payment holds in J.P. Morgan Access and want to manage them by API, transition the relevant accounts first.

Scope and prerequisites

This guidance applies to clients who use J.P. Morgan Access and are transitioning payment hold management to the Alerts and Decisioning API. Complete the transition per account. Start with a small subset of accounts.

Before you transition an account

Complete these steps to support a smooth cutover:

  1. Resolve pending holds: Clear all payment holds for the account you plan to transition.

  2. Confirm which accounts you want to move: Identify the accounts you plan to manage through the Alerts and Decisioning API.

  3. Initiate the transition with your J.P. Morgan Access representative: Contact your service representative. Ask them to remove the selected accounts from J.P. Morgan Access and set them up for the Alerts and Decisioning API.

What to expect during the transition

  • Your service representative may contact you if a hold needs action before the account can move.
  • You can transition accounts in phases. Move a subset first, then move additional accounts later.

After the transition is complete

  • The onboarding team contacts you after they complete the request.
  • Payment holds for transitioned accounts no longer appear in J.P. Morgan Access. Manage holds through the Alerts and Decisioning API.
  • If transactions go on hold during the transition, your service representative notifies you and coordinate with relevant teams so that no hold is missed.
